Mixing technology plays a central role in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) encapsulation, influencing the properties and consistency of formulations used to deliver nucleic acids. Presented at RNA Leaders Europe in Basel, Switzerland, the following presentation slides introduce FDmiX, Lonza’s new mixing device designed for next-generation nucleic acid encapsulation. Focused on manufacturability, formulation stability, and particle homogeneity, the content includes performance data examining the device’s application to LNP manufacturing.

The slides also include response measurements reported in relative light units, providing additional data for evaluating performance. By presenting these findings in the context of manufacturing, the presentation offers insight into how FDmiX may fit into good manufacturing practice (GMP) processes for nucleic acid-containing nanoparticles. This is an increasingly important consideration as development programs advance toward later stages, when process consistency, product quality, and manufacturing readiness become central concerns. For teams assessing encapsulation technologies, the data provide an opportunity to examine the device’s reported performance and consider its potential relevance to their own process development and manufacturing requirements.
